Our Mission
Embracing an Innovative Mindset
The Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, open to all Northwestern University students and faculty, is the academic cornerstone of Northwestern’s renowned entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. Rooted in the McCormick School of Engineering, the Farley Center offers a broad range of credit-bearing coursework and thought leadership, providing students with an experiential education that will help them pursue their passions.
We teach an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset that helps students dissect problems, learn how to pivot, and create solutions. In class, we emphasize the importance of resilience, optimism, and endurance — drawing real-world lessons from our faculty of experienced practitioners from across Northwestern’s top-ranked schools and from the private sector.
Our History
The Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation was endowed in 2008 to foster student interest in entrepreneurship and to create a community of student innovators equipped for future entrepreneurial success.
Northwestern Engineering's Entrepreneurship Perspective
The Farley Center is housed within Northwestern’s McCormick School of Engineering, which sees entrepreneurial activities in the context of whole-brain thinking. By tapping into our engineering culture of creative makers and problem-solvers, we provide many pathways to entrepreneurship, empowering students and faculty to push innovation to society at large.
